Yannick Noah appointed FFT's National Coordinator for Para Tennis
Yannick Noah will become the National Para Tennis Coordinator for the French Tennis Federation from January 2025, the FFT has announced.
Noah, who captained France’s Davis Cup team to titles in 1991, 1996 and 2017, and the Billie Jean King Cup team to victory in 1997, is now set to expand on his successful experience captaining the French men’s wheelchair tennis team at the Paris 2024 Games.
Noah will head up all para tennis practices within the FFT – including wheelchair tennis, deaf and hard of hearing tennis and blind tennis.
He will support the development and strategy of para tennis within the nation, and work on its promotion throughout France – with a particular focus on young competitors throughout clubs in France.
"I am very happy to join the para tennis team of the French Tennis Federation,” said Noah. “I would like to thank the FFT for the trust it has placed in me for this new mission, which is particularly close to my heart. I had an incredible human experience alongside the players of the France wheelchair tennis team at the Paralympic Games in Paris and I didn't want this beautiful story to end there. I want to be fully committed to the development of para tennis.”
"We are very proud that Yannick Noah is extending his adventure with the FFT,” said Gilles Moretton, President of the FFT. “After his magnificent experience at the Paris Paralympic Games, Yannick Noah expressed the wish to continue to invest in para tennis and we were obviously very sensitive to this. Thanks to his experience, his energy, his interpersonal skills and his knowledge of the field, we are convinced that he will be able to meet this new challenge successfully.”
