Tennis Safeguarding Information | ITF
Safeguarding

As the world governing body, the ITF is committed to safeguarding all children and adults throughout tennis tournaments, events, projects and programmes at all levels. Embedding safeguarding best practice in all activities is key to achieving our ambition of 'Delivering Tennis for Future Generations'

What is Safeguarding?

Safeguarding is the action we take to ensure all children and adults are kept safe from harm when involved in ITF tournaments, events and wider tennis activities

If you are concerned for your immediate safety or the immediate safety of someone else, dial the emergency number in that country e.g. 999 in UK, 911 in USA, and report your concerns to the Police.

If you have a concern about the safety or welfare of a child or adult at risk of harm you must take action.

In the first instance, speak with a Designated Safeguarding Officer or a person in charge of supervising the tournament or event who will be able to respond to your concern.

Report a concern

If you cannot speak with someone at the time, use our reporting form below to contact the ITF Safeguarding Team directly, or use the safeguarding referral email: safeguarding@itftennis.com

Other reporting mechanisms

As well as using the reporting form above, there are many other ways to report a safeguarding incident

  • Everyone should feel safe, respected and valued in all tennis activities and engagement.
  • Everyone has the right to enjoy tennis in safe and inclusive environments, free from all forms of harassment, abuse, exploitation and poor practice.
  • Everyone must be vigilant and report any concerns to ensure that children and adults at risk of harm receive effective protection.
