14 May 2024

Day in the Life: Joel Schwaerzler is the first in a multi-episode YouTube series produced by the ITF which gives viewers a unique insight into the daily lives of players across the world.

Joel is currently the top-ranked boy on the planet having enjoyed an impressive 2023 season which culminated in him winning the ITF World Tennis Tour Junior Finals in Chengdu.

The Austrian has continued to make positive strides since, and this year has concentrated more on professional tournaments. In March, the 18-year-old reached his maiden ITF World Tennis Tour Men’s final at M15 Antalya.

The video goes behind the scenes, taking a close look at his daily routine, his team, the role sports science plays in his practice, his hobbies and even his cooking skills.

After Joel, the next video in the series will feature Slovakia’s Renata Jamrichova, who is currently ranked No. 1 in the ITF World Tennis Tour girls’ rankings and is the reigning Australian Open girls’ champion.

In recent weeks, the 16-year-old has represented her nation in the 2024 Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Qualifiers and won two ITF World Tennis Tour Women’s titles.

The Day in the Life series in 2024 builds upon the Day in the Life videos produced in 2023 with Alexandra Eala of the Philippines and Cooper Williams of the United States.
