Dougaz triumphs on home soil at M25 Hammamet to approach Top 200
Aziz Dougaz captured his 13th singles title on the ITF World Tennis Tour at M25 Hammamet in his home country of Tunisia on Sunday.
Dougaz defeated all-comers in straight sets to claim the title, including defeating Austria’s Sandro Kopp 7-6(6) 6-2 in the final of the clay court event.
The title is the joint-biggest of the Tunisian’s career, after winning M25 Saint-Augustin in Canada back in October 2022.
This newest title sees him take a step closer to breaking into the Top 200 in the rankings for the first time.
Dougaz achieved a career-high singles ranking of No. 214 in June last year, and currently sits at No. 241 in the world.
He has predominantly competed at Challenger level in 2024, and reached the final round of qualifying at the Australian Open before being denied a Grand Slam debut by Dino Prizmic.
Elsewhere, Dutchman Jelle Sels won the singles and doubles at M25 Santa Margherita di Pula in Italy.
He partnered Belgium’s Buvaysar Gadamauri in the doubles, whom he defeated in the first round of the singles, and defeated Italian Marcello Serafini in both finals.

Lukas Pokorny won his first ITF World Tennis Tour singles title, defeating Brit Stuart Parker 7-5 6-1 in the final at M15 Monastir in Tunisia.
