First tennis court in Denmark awarded ITF recognition

09 Oct 2019

A court at the Kjøbenhavns Boldklub (Frederiksberg, Denmark) is the first tennis court in Denmark to obtain an ITF Recognition award.

The court has been awarded Two-Star ITF Recognition, an independent acknowledgement of the quality of installation, by meeting the ITF recommendations for evenness, slope, planarity, dimensions and court pace.

The court surface was supplied by HybridClay™, a company based in Norway, who offer a hybrid clay tennis surface combining the tradition of the clay surface with innovative modern-day technology.

“Very pleased to have done an installation at such a prestigious club as the Kjøbenhavns Boldklub”, said David Hung Nguyen, CEO of HybridClay™.

“Kjøbenhavns Boldklub is one of the oldest sports clubs in all of Europe and the fact that they have elected to lead the way in the field of modern clay tennis courts is a mark that they follow the innovation currently happening in the development of modern clay tennis courts. The club had a wish the court be recognized by the ITF so that they were assured of its quality and that it met the standards set by the ITF.”

With 170 courts from 42 venues currently ITF Recognised, the programme is continuing to grow worldwide, providing a range of benefits to manufacturers, installers and end-users.
