Five reasons to buy Hopman Cup tickets today
Hopman Cup, the ITF's official mixed team competition, returns to the tennis calendar next month following a four-year absence and will take place at Nice Lawn Tennis Club on 19-23 July. Here are five reasons to buy tickets today.....
There are some fantastic players on show
The star-studded cast is headed by Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, who before Novak Djokovic’s record-breaking exploits at Roland Garros was the world’s top-ranked men’s players.
Aged just 20, it is a fair assumption that Carlitos will be competing for the game’s biggest honours for years to come, so why not grab this opportunity to see him in the flesh? He will be teaming up with Paula Badosa to form a dynamic Spanish pairing.
Aside from Alcaraz and Badosa, the likes of world No. 6 Holger Rune, Tokyo 2020 gold medallist Belinda Bencic and Croatian duo Borna Coric and Donna Vekic – both top 20 players – will all be on show.

Witness the historic return of a much-loved competition
Hopman Cup has enjoyed an illustrious history and featured legends of the game such as Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic, Steffi Graf, John McEnroe, Martina Hingis, Boris Becker, Li Na and Andy Murray.
The event, which was founded in 1989 and spent its first 30 years being staged in the Australian city of Perth, has been missing from the tennis calendar since 2019. However, 2023 marks its glorious return at the Nice Lawn Tennis Club on the French Riviera.
Back in 2019, Serena Williams described the prospect of Hopman Cup no longer being played as “heartbreaking”. Serena has played – and won – the event so knows its backstory, but do not take her word for it, experience it for yourself!
Hopman Cup offers something most other events do not
Hopman Cup allows players to compete for their nations, play as a team and contest the event, which includes singles and doubles matches, as a mixed team. Not many events grant players this opportunity.
There have been so many iconic moments, not least the legendary selfie taken by Roger Federer and Serena Williams in 2019 which threatens to break the internet every time it is posted on a social media platform.
There is nothing like being in the stadium for those ‘I was there’ instances, and more storied moments will unfold as the competition retakes its place under the spotlight.

It is a tournament which is more than surface deep
For those who subscribe to the view that clay-court tennis sees the game being played at its best, the 2023 Hopman Cup should be right up their alley. A selection of the world’s best players competing on the red stuff, what could be better?
Tennis fans will have just finished gorging on a feast of grass-court action, with the 2023 Hopman Cup starting on Wednesday 19 July – three days after the end of The Championships, Wimbledon.
Holger Rune has already noted in his latest ITF blog that immediately returning to clay after the grass-court season could well pose problems, so it will be interesting to see how the world’s best cope and adapt.
Whatever the surface, however, an extravaganza of mixed team competition awaits.
Nice in July, does it get much better?
Quite simply, there are far worse places than Nice in July to spend a few days watching world-class tennis players.
