Fruhvirtova soars to new heights as youngest to win 10 ITF titles
Brenda Fruhvirtova’s remarkable start to her professional tennis career continued this weekend as the 16-year-old collected her 10th title - the biggest of her career to date - on the ITF World Tennis Tour.
The Czech, who won her first eight ITF professional singles titles exclusively at W25 tournaments last year, has stepped up another level in 2023 to claim trophies at W40 Bengalaru in March and at W60 Hechingen on Sunday.
The teenager cantered to her latest title on German clay with five straight sets wins – including a 6-3 6-1 triumph over Slovenian Ziva Falkner in the Sunday’s final.
Fruhvirtova becomes the youngest player to win 10 titles in ITF World Tennis Tour history, comfortably heading up an esteemed list of players to have collected a hatful of ITF singles titles before their 17th birthday.
