Get to know Alina Korneeva
Alina Korneeva has enjoyed a stunning campaign and following her win at the 2023 ITF World Tennis Tour Junior Finals in Chengdu regained No. 1 spot in the ITF World Tennis Tour junior rankings.
It is a season which has seen the 16-year-old become the first girl since Belinda Bencic in 2013 to win back-to-back Junior Grand Slam singles titles having triumphed at the Australian Open and then Roland Garros.
Korneeva then underlined her immense potential by topping the podium at W100 Figueira da Foz in July. Victory at W100 Figueira da Foz resulted in Korneeva becaming the youngest player to win a W100 – the highest classification of women’s event on the ITF World Tennis Tour.
The teenager recently triumphed at the ITF Junior Finals and is now well placed to finish 2023 as the top-ranked girl on the planet and be named an ITF World Champion. In this interview, Korneeva discusses her stellar season and her hopes for the future.
