Renata Zarazua is something of a trailblazer for Mexican women's tennis.

In 2020, she became the first Mexican player to reach a WTA semi-final since 1993 at the Mexican Open, and went on to become the first woman from her nation to play in a Grand Slam main draw in two decades when she reached the second round at Roland Garros later that year.

A two-time singles titlist and 16-time doubles titlist on the ITF World Tennis Tour, Zarazua added the biggest doubles title of her career to her haul this May when she won W100+H La Bisbal D'Emporda alongside Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva. 

Zarazua speaks to itftennis.com about why she treats playing professional tennis just like 'working in an office', how she has honed her craft in ITF tournaments, and the valuable support she received from the Grand Slams to support her tennis development.
