Italy announces intended team for Paris 2024
The Italian Tennis Federation has announced its intended team for the Paris 2024 Olympic Tennis Event, boasting a formidable line up across both singles and doubles.
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner and Roland Garros runner-up Jasmine Paolini headline their entries in the men's and women's singles events, with both players also set to feature in the doubles.
The Italians have been able to name six Top 50 singles players to feature in Paris, with Sinner set to be joined by world No. 30 Lorenzo Musetti, No. 34 Matteo Arnaldi, No. 41 Luciano Darderi in the men's event, and world No. 7 Paolini due to be accompanied by No. 43 Elisabetta Cocciaretto and No. 68 Lucia Bronzetti in the women's singles.
Paolini will pair with Sara Errani in the women's doubles event - with whom she finished runner-up at Roland Garros last week - while Coccciaretto and Bronzetti are also set to team up.

In men's doubles, Italy have opted to combine their top two singles talents as a partnership in Sinner and Musetti, while their second pairing will feature doubles world No. 10 Andrea Vavassori and No. 11 Simone Bolelli.
Italy will have high hopes of winning a first medal at the Olympic Tennis Event since Paolo Cane and Raffaella Reggi-Concato won men's and women's singles bronze, respectively, at the demonstration event at Los Angeles 1984.
The full entry list for the Olympic Tennis Event will be announced by the ITF here on 4 July.
