Italy’s Lorenzo Rottoli boosted his reputation as one of the leading players on the ITF World Tennis Tour Men’s this season with a third title of what is proving an extremely prosperous campaign.

Despite making his ITF World Tennis Tour main draw debut in 2019, it is only this year that world No. 571 Rottoli is making his presence felt, with his latest silverware coming on the clay of M25 Santa Margherita di Pula.

This adds to two previous triumphs at M15 Monastir in February and March and represents the biggest title of the 21-year-old’s career so far, placing him among the standout ITF World Tennis Tour performers in 2023.

Sweden’s Dragos Nicolae Madaras leads the way with seven titles, having showcased exquisitely consistent form, with Rottoli in the chasing pack, alongside the likes of Clement Chidekh of France and Romania’s Gabi Adrian Boitan, on three.

Rottoli secured victory at M25 Santa Margherita di Pula courtesy of a straight-sets win over Poland’s Olaf Pieczkowski in the final, 7-6(5) 6-3, while he dopped just the one set – against fellow Italian Stefano Napolitano in the quarter-finals – all week.

Elsewhere, Denmark’s August Holmgren, Yanki Erel of Turkey and Rigele Te of China, P.R. all won their first titles of the year – and biggest of their careers – at M25 Nottingham, M25 Jakarta and M25 Sanxenxo respectively.
