ITF Beach Tennis announce new Sand Series schedule for 2024
The International Tennis Federation (ITF) is delighted to announce the official schedule for the 2024 ITF Beach Tennis Sand Series.
In 2021, the ITF Beach Tennis Sand Series debuted, attracting the world’s top male and female players to compete at four iconic locations around the globe: Saarlouis, Gran Canaria, Brasília, and Réunion Island. This year, the stakes have risen with increased ranking points and prize money. As the pinnacle of the ITF Beach Tennis World Tour, the Sand Series boats the highest rewards and ranking points, showcasing elite athletes in prestigious global settings. Since 2021, the Sand Series has extended its reach to include seven destinations, and in 2024, it will host its inaugural Finals event, where the best teams compete for the ultimate title.
The 2024 Sand Series schedule brings a wave of excitement with several notable updates. Among the highlights is the addition of the renowned Aruba Open, returning to the pinnacle of the ITF calendar after its successful 2023 comeback at the BT400 level.
This year, the Sand Series Réunion Classic has a new slot in the calendar and a record-breaking prize money category, making it the most lucrative event across Beach Tennis.
Moving to May, the tournament will take full advantage of ideal island conditions and with a remarkable US$75,000 prize fund, the winning doubles teams will each claim a thrilling US$15,000.
The upcoming 2024 Sand Series season will see three pivotal stops in Brazil for the top players. The dynamic tournament circuit will revisit all three acclaimed 2023 events, encompassing two ventures in the state of São Paulo and the prestigious Sand Series Classic held against the backdrop of Brasília’s national soccer stadium.
All four original Classics – Saarlouis, Gran Canaria, Brasília, and Réunion – will stage a triumphant return for their fourth consecutive appearance in the Sand Series. These tournaments have consistently anchored the schedule, evolving, and expanding each year to elevate the essence of competitiveness across Beach Tennis. The tournaments span from April to December culminating with the Sand Series Finals, with a prize fund of $100,000.
