After the successful comeback of the Super-Seniors World Championships in Mallorca last year, it is time for the 2022 edition.

The 2022 ITF Super-Seniors (65-70-75-80-85-90) World Team & Individual Championships got underway on 24 April in Palm Beach County, Florida, in the first flagship seniors event of the year.

The 41st edition of the event features a host of top players, including multiple returning world champions. The 2022 Team event also welcomes the return of host nation United States, in addition to teams from Great Britain, Australia and South Africa, with both of the latter two nations absent from the 2021 event.

More than 300 players will represent their nations at the ITF Super-Seniors World Team Championships on 24-29 April, with 98 teams battling it out for the honours.

In the women’s competition, France and Germany will be looking to defend their crowns in the Kitty Godfree Cup, Althea Gibson Cup, Queen’s Cup and the Doris Hart Cup. The USA, meanwhile, will attempt to retain the 2019 Angela Mortimer Cup.

On the men’s side, Spain were the only team to break the German monopoly in 2021 – they will be looking to add to the Britannia Cup trophy won in Mallorca last year.

The ITF Super-Seniors World Individual Championship follows the team event and runs from 30 April-7 May.
