The magazine previews the Davis Cup by Rakuten Qualifiers, as nations face off in home-and-away ties this week in the first 2023 action of the men’s World Cup of Tennis and bid to secure a place in the Davis Cup Finals Group Stage. It also reflects on a landmark year for Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge, the women’s World Cup of Tennis.
Elsewhere, this issue looks at the latest improvements to the ITF World Tennis Tour and the drive for gender equality on the international player pathway.
There is a photographic tribute to Kunieda, who bows out from wheelchair tennis with 50 Grand Slam titles and six Paralympic medals.
ITFWorld’s regional focus in this issue is South, Southeast and East Asia, from where we get an on-the-ground report from 10 lesser-known tennis nations.
