Kostyuk set for Olympic debut as Ukraine names team for Paris 2024
Ukraine has announced its team for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Tennis Event on 27 July-4 August, with Marta Kostyuk set to lead her nation on her Olympic debut.
Kostyuk, who climbed to a career-high world No. 16 this week, is set to be joined in the women’s singles draw at the Games by world No. 21 Elina Svitolina, No. 27 Dayana Yastremska, and No. 46 Anhelina Kalinina.
Kostyuk, who is a two-time Grand Slam semi-finalist in doubles (which includes a run to the last four alongside Elena Gabriela Ruse at Roland Garros earlier this month) is also set to feature in the women’s doubles event alongside Yastremska.
Sisters and Nadiia and Lyudmyla Kichenok, the world doubles No. 17 and No. 35, respectively, will take the second place available to Ukrainians in the women’s doubles draw.

At 29, Svitolina provides the experience in the Ukrainian team – not to mention Olympic pedigree, having won a singles bronze medal for her nation at Tokyo 2020 after beating Elena Rybakina in three sets.
She also made a memorable Olympic debut at Rio 2016, stunning Serena Williams in the third round.
Kalinina, meanwhile, may be set for her Olympic debut but the 27-year-old has some history in an event of this mould as a former Youth Olympic medallist, having won doubles gold alongside Iryna Shymanovich at Nanjing 2014.
