Urszula Radwanska claimed her first title in 17 months after winning the ITF World Tennis Tour title at W25 Moscow.

A former world No. 29, the 30-year-old Pole defeated Belarusian Yuliya Hatouka 4-6 6-3 6-4 in the final in the Russian capital to win her seventh career professional title – all of which have come at ITF events.

Radwanska, the younger sister of former world No. 2 Agnieszka, has endured an injury-hit few seasons on tour. She dropped as low as No. 524 in November 2017 and played just five matches last year – winning a solitary match.

Now up to 263 in the world, the Pole is hoping her latest triumph can serve as a sizeable boost as she targets a return to her former heights.

“I am very happy about this victory,” said Radwanska. “I need as many tournaments and matches as possible. After another injury, I decided to go back to tennis and so far I'm doing very well.

“This is my seventh ITF tournament win in my career - my ambitions go higher, but step-by-step I am making up for the losses caused by a few months' break in the game. I believe I'll gradually build my ranking and return to the WTA Top 100.”

Meanwhile, 18-year-old Daria Snigur continued her positive progress on the ITF World Tennis Tour after claiming her fifth professional title at W25 Poitiers.

The Ukrainian – who ranked as high as No. 2 in the ITF Junior rankings and won the girls’ singles title at Wimbledon in 2019 – defeated fellow bright spark Clara Burel in the final of the French tournament.

Meanwhile, Dea Herdzelas won her first title in nearly four years at W15 Antalya. The 24-year-old from Bosnia and Herzegovina defeated Italian Nuria Brancaccio 6-7(1) 6-2 7-5 in the final to claim her sixth ITF title and first since winning at W15 Cairo in April 2017.

Latvian Sabine Rutlauka enjoyed a milestone win at W15 Sharm El Sheikh, winning her first professional singles title as a qualifier. The 18-year-old survived a tie-break in the third round of qualifying, and went on to win the tournament with a 6-7(4) 7-5 7-5 win over Svenja Ochsner.

A week after winning her first professional singles title at W15 Monastir, Weronika Falkowska was at it again at the same venue. The 20-year-old Pole defeated teenager Francesca Curmi 6-2 6-0 in emphatic fashion to leap to a new career-high ranking of No. 670.

The ITF World Tennis Tour sees six women’s tournaments take place this week, headlined by W25 events in Manacor and Newport Beach. Follow all the latest action via the ITF live scores and ITF live streaming platform.
