The men's singles draw will feature 56 players. The winners of the 2018 Asian Para Games and 2019 Parapan American Games are also guaranteed a place in the draw.

The women's singles draw will feature 32 players, including 22 direct entries based on the ITF Wheelchair Tennis Ranking as of 8 June 2020, and 8 Bipartite Commission Invitation places. The winners of the 2018 Asian Para Games and 2019 Parapan American Games will automatically qualify.

The quad singles draw will feature 16 players, including 12 direct entries based on the ITF Wheelchair Tennis Ranking as of 8 June 2020, and 4 Bipartite Commission Invitation places.

The doubles draws will include a maximum of 28 men's teams, 16 women's teams and 8 quad teams.

The 2018 Asian Para Games will be held in Indonesia on 6-13 October 2018 and the 2019 Parapan American Games will take place in Lima, Peru from the 23 August-1 September 2019. The men's and women's singles champions from both events will automatically qualify for the 2020 Paralympic Tennis Event (provided they fulfil all other eligibility requirements).

Each National Paralympic Committee (NPC) can enter a maximum of four men, four women and three quad players, all of whom must fulfil the eligibility requirements. All such players are eligible to compete in both singles and doubles. The ITF Wheelchair Tennis Ranking as of 8 June 2020 will be used to determine direct entries for all events.

The process for NPCs to apply for Bipartite Commission Invitation slots will be open from 6 February to 19 June 2020.
