Wozniacki qualifies for fourth Olympic Tennis Event
Caroline Wozniacki is set to join Holger Rune and Clara Tauson at the upcoming Olympic Tennis Event after the Danish tennis federation confirmed its singles line-up for Paris 2024 this week.
Wozniacki, who will take part in her fourth Games in Paris having featured at Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016, qualifies via an ITF place in one of two spots reserved into each singles draw for former Grand Slam winners.
With Tauson and Rune set to make their Olympic debuts, Denmark is set to send its biggest contingent to compete in the singles event since the sport returned to the Olympic programme in 1988.
"Danish tennis is historically strong, and this is underlined by the fact that we will have three players at the Olympics. I know how big a goal the Olympics have been for Caroline, so it was a pleasure to be able to convey to her the happy news of her qualification," says sports director of the Danish Tennis Federation, Jens Anker Andersen.
