Zarazua closes in on top 60 after W100 Tyler triumph
Renata Zarazua completed an excellent month on the ITF World Tennis Tour by adding the W100 Tyler crown to her collection - the second biggest title of her career.
The 27-year-old Mexican, whose best win to date came at a WTA 125 event in Montevideo last December, defeated a host of up-and-coming Americans, including 16-year-old Iva Jovic 6-4 6-2 in the final, to win her second ITF singles crown of 2024.
It was also her second tournament win in the space of four weeks, following on from her victory at W75 Templeton at the end of September.
She climbed nine spots in the WTA rankings to a career-high ranking of No. 62 in the world on Monday as a result.

Jovic too could celebrate another milestone in her stunning transition to the professional realm as she reached her maiden ITF W100 final and leapt 36 spots to a career-high No. 212.
She has won 14 of her last 16 matches on the ITF World Tennis Tour, having also claimed the second and third ITF singles titles of her fledgling career over the past two months.
The teenager also enjoyed a standout Grand Slam debut as a wild card at the US Open in August - when she overcame Magda Linette in straight sets before going toe-to-toe with Ekaterina Alexandrova in a three-set battle lasting over three hours.
Elsewhere, Anastasia Zakharova won the other W100 tournament taking place on the ITF World Tennis Tour last week, defeating Alina Charaeva 6-3 6-1 to win the W100 Les Franqueses del Valles event in Barcelona.
Zakharova, 22, now has two W100 titles to her name this year, and 15 ITF singles titles overall.
