Overview

The 2023 ITF World Tennis Tour Junior Finals took place at the Sichuan International Tennis Center, Chengdu, China from 16-22 October 2023.

The event showcased the best junior players from the past twelve months on the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors, which provides opportunities for players aged 18 and under to compete internationally.

In partnership with the Chinese Tennis Association, Chengdu Sports Bureau, and Chengdu Shuangliu District Bureau of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the event resumed in Chengdu following successful events that took place between 2015 – 2019.

Following a pulsating week of action, Alina Korneeva was crowned girls' champion as Joel Schwaerzler topped the boys' podium.

All players on show in Chengdu received travel grants to support their future progression to professional tennis. As champions, Korneeva and Schwaerzler received $17,000 USD, with the grants staggered so those in eighth position received $6,000.

The players who contested the 2023 ITF Junior Finals also followed in some esteemed footsteps.

Grand Slam champions Marketa Vondrousova, Elena Rybakina, Sofia Kenin and Jelena Ostapenko have all competed at past ITF Junior Finals, as have Casper Ruud, Holger Rune, Andrey Rublev, Taylor Fritz, Leylah Fernandez, Lorenzo Musetti and Marta Kostyuk.
