Now in its 13th year, the ABN AMRO World Wheelchair Tennis Tournament is one of a selection of high profile tournaments on the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour that take place annually in conjunction with ATP World Tour or WTA Tour events.

In the 12 previous editions of the Rotterdam tournament the men's singles title has been won on two occasions by five different players - Gustavo Fernandez (ARG), Stephane Houdet (FRA), Shingo Kunieda (JPN), Gordon Reid (GBR) and Ronald Vink (NED). Robin Ammerlaan (NED) and and 2020 champion Alfie Hewett (GBR) have both won the singles title on one occasion.
