Overview

Now in its 14th year, the ABN AMRO World Wheelchair Tennis Tournament is one of a selection of high profile tournaments on the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour that take place annually in conjunction with ATP World Tour or WTA Tour events.

In the 13 previous editions of the Rotterdam tournament the men's singles title had been won on two occasions by six different players - Ronald Vink (NED), Gustavo Fernandez (ARG), Stephane Houdet (FRA), Shingo Kunieda (JPN), Gordon Reid (GBR) and defending champion Alfie Hewett (GBR).

Robin Ammerlaan (NED) won the singles title on one occasion, when the wheelchair tournament made its debut in Rotterdam in 2009.

Hewett completed the hat-trick this year, becoming the first wheelchair player to win three men's singles title in Rotterdam after defeating Fernandez 6-3 6-1.

Houdet and Nicolas Peifer took the men's doubles title for the fourth time, extending their record as the winning-most doubles partnership in Rotterdam, with Houdet claiming his sixth title after two previous wins alongside Reid.
