Overview

The 2025 Australian Open Wheelchair Championships signals the start of another progression in the evolution of wheelchair tennis at the four Grand Slam tournaments, with the introduction of qualifying draws for the first time for each of the men's, women's and quad singles.

The first Grand Slam event of the year will feature main draw sizes of 16 men, 16 women and 16 quad players at Melbourne Park, with 14 main draw entries already announced for each of the the men's, women's and quad singles.

With a total of 42 players currently among the main draw entries across the men’s, women’s and quad events, a further 12 players will contest one of the three qualifying draws for men, women and quad divisions from 20 January

The Australian Open wheelchair tennis main draws are scheduled to be played from Tuesday 21 January to Saturday 25 January with two players progressing to the main draws from each of the men’s, women’s and quad qualifying draws.

The Australian Open Wheelchair Championships draws will be made on Sunday morning, 19 January, at Melbourne Park.
