Teams from 29 countries lined up at Vilamoura Tennis Academy to contest the men’s, women’s and quad events at the BNP Paribas World Team Cup Qualification.
Both sets of men's finalists from two the draws of 10 nations and all four women’s semi-finalists from the one draw of 11 nations qualified for the 2021 BNP Paribas World Team Cup in Sardinia in October. They join those that already have direct entry for Sardinia based on the final results of the 2019 World Team Cup.
Meanwhile, with the ITF’s annual flagship wheelchair tennis team event having introduced a quad qualification event for the first time in 2020, five quad teams attempted to book their place in Sardinia, with the winner and runner-up earning the available qualification slots.
