Overview

The BNP Paribas World Team Cup is the wheelchair tennis equivalent of the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup. Held annually with a different nation playing host each year, there are divisions for men, women, quads and a junior event supported by the Cruyff Foundation.

The 2019 BNP Paribas World Team Cup was held in Israel for the very first time, hosted by the the Israel Tennis Association at the Larry and Mary Greenspon Israel Tennis Centre at Ramat Hasharon on 13-18 May 2019, with 42 teams from 23 nations taking part.

Great Britain won its second men's title in the World Team Cup’s 35-year history, Netherlands completed won its 31st title in 34 years of the women's event, Japan won the quad title for the first time and Australia also won the junior title for the very first time. The winning teams at the 2019 event were as follows:

Men: Great Britain (Alfie Hewett, Gordon Reid, Dermot Bailey)

Women: Netherlands (Diede de Groot, Aniek van Koot, Marjolein Buis, Michaela Spaanstra)

Quad: Japan (Koji Sugeno, Mitsuteru Moroishi, Shota Kawano, Kei Usami)

Junior: Australia (Finn Broadbent, Riley Dumsday, Hayley Slocombe)
