The BNP Paribas World Team Cup took place in Portugal on 2-8 May. The wheelchair tennis equivalent of the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup is held annually with a different nation playing host each year. There are divisions for men, women, quads and a junior event supported by the Cruyff Foundation.
Forty-four teams from 22 nations took part in this year's event, as follows:

2022 CHAMPIONS
Second seeds Japan won the women's World Group for the first time, beating top seeds and 32-time champions Netherlands 2-0 in the final.
Netherlands retained the men's World Group and quad World Group titles, winning the men's title for the eighth time after defeating Spain 2-0 and winning the quad title for the third time after beating first-time finalists South Africa 2-0.
The junior World Group title was won for the second time by Australia, who repeated their 2019 success by beating Great Britain 2-1 in the final.
