Overview

The Japan Open was the third Super Series event on the 2023 UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour and the first edition of the Japan Open since 2019, with the 2020, 2021 and 2022 tournaments having been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Six of the world's top 10 players contested the men's singles, while nine of the top 10 players contested the women's singles and seven of the world's top 10 players contested the quad singles.

Tokito Oda won his first Japan Open men's singles title while Diede de Groot claimed her second Japan Open women's singles title after adding to her victory in 2019. Niels Vink also won his first Japan Open quad singles title.
