The Melbourne Wheelchair Open was the second of three tournaments in Australia at the start of the 2024 UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour, the first Super Series tournament of the year and the tournament directly before the 2024 Australian Open Wheelchair Championships, the first Grand Slam of the year.
Diede de Groot extended her winning streak to 131 matches as she retained the women's singles title after beating Yui Kamiji 6-1 3-6 7-6(0), having been 5-1 down and saved a match point in the final set.
Tokito Oda won his first Melbourne Open title after beating defending champion Alfie Hewett 6-2, 7-6(5) in the men's singles final, while Sam Schroder left Hume Tennis and Community Centre with the quad singles title after top seed Niels Vink had to retire inured at 5-0 down in the first set of their final.
