Boar’s Head Resort is proud to host the Women’s Open benefiting The Haven in Charlottesville, VA. The Haven is a multi-resource day shelter in downtown Charlottesville that offers a welcoming, safe place for the homeless.
Before many players progressed and became stars, they started on this circuit and developed their games which carried them to the top of the rankings. Danielle Collins, Madison Keys and Jessica Pegula all competed at the Boar’s Head Resort Women’s Open and were all quarterfinalists in the Australian Open. Some other notable players who have competed at this event include Jelena Jankovic (career high #1); Samantha Stosur (career high #4); Anna Kournikova (career high #8); and Dominika Ciblukova (career high #10).
Creating the best tennis experience for our community is a primary mission of the Boar’s Head Resort while hosting The Women’s Open.
