For over 20 years, TCAB has been positioned on the international tennis circuit. Between 2000 and 2007, a men's Challenger tournament named Challenger 42 took place in Andrézieux-Bouthéon, initially in February, later shifted after the Australian Open, and finally organised in October 2007 with a prize fund of $100,000 before disappearing from the calendar in 2008.
Since 2011, women's tennis has gained prominence, notably with the launch of an international tournament. Initially called Open GDF SUEZ, it is now known as Engie Open Andrézieux-Bouthéon 42 and is part of the ITF World Tennis Tour.
